Heavy snow and wind are likely along the leading edge of the system as it works its way up the coast and into the Interior Saturday. Snow will gradually become a mix of wintery precipitation then rain by Sunday afternoon for most areas. Chances for a light coating of ice as the transition occurs will be greatest where temperatures have been consistently below freezing. Snow accumulation will be largely dependent on elevation and timing of the rain/snow transition, so there may be some changes in the forecast as the system approaches.
